Hi Vis Mod
From SupremeWiki, a collaborative guide to games by BattleGoat Studios.
The Hi Vis Mod is a mod by Deanco that makes the user interface easier to see. I modded the UI a tiny bit, after reading a thread complaining about the fonts being too small to read at higher resolutions. Apparently, nothing can be done about enlarging the fonts, so I increased the contrast, making the letters stand out more. While I was at it, I did 3 or 4 other little things that were bugging me. Here's what I did:
The bottom panel, and the emails, now have a dark blue background, and I reduced the contrast of the original, making the background pattern less prominent. This is the biggest change, and it does seem to help the letters stand out.
The generic unit icons, which were once a uniform gold color, have been redone. Green for land, yellow for air, blue for sea, and purple for missile. We also have green for active units, yellow for reserves, and red in production. There are a couple screens where this really helps a lot.
- NOTE: As of update 4.6.1 of Supreme Ruler 2010 contains the Hi-Vis mod. It can be activated by using the key "GUI-highcontrast.reg" in the Registry folder.
Modifications
- The buttons in general have been brightened up and the contrast increased, making the buttons stand out more.
- The 'X' to close windows is now white on red, in good xp fashion. Stands out more, easier to find.
- A red X on the 'delete email' icons. Now the delete mail button looks much different than the buttons next to it.
Version 2 Modifications
- Fixed to reflect the changes in the Update 2 patch. The State Department arrow is there.
- I blued up the rest of the interface (speed controls, email tab) to bring it into line with the rest. It looks like blued steel now.
- The speed buttons and Help buttons have been recolored to make them stand out better when "off".
- Minor cleanup work.
Version 2.1 Modifications
When looking at the detailed stats of a unit, the 'crosshairs' which are on icons that indicate the amount of damage dealt against a certain target have been recolored bright green, bright yellow and bright blue to make this crucial (for me, anyway) statistic stand out from the rest. And yes, the green, yellow and blue fits in with the overall color coding scheme.
Version 2.2 Modifications
- Email window now dark blue like before (thanks HercMighty).
- Right sidebar darkened up like before (thanks again HercMighty).
- DEFCON slider changed to light blue to fit in with everything.
Version 2.3 Bugfix
- missing diplomacy button added (thanks Shellshock)
Version 2.5 Modifications
- All the 'detailed unit' screen icons have been recolored, to break them up into rows, as explained in the tutorial. The first 2 rows (essential stats) are brown, rows 3 and 4 (attack ratings) are green, row 5 (defense) is dark yellow and row 6 (other) is grey. This breaks the screen up into sections, and draws your eye naturally to what interests you most in that mass of statistics. The 'crosshair' color coding from 2.1 is still there.
- The "U" screen: The filters have been recolored, and now have a letter on them to differentiate them from the land/sea/air buttons. Blue 'D' for deployed, grey 'R' for reserve, and red 'P' for in production. Now there is no question what you are doing up there.
Version 2.6 Modifications
- The transparent panels behind the briefing text (at the beginning of the game) have been darkened to make the briefing text easier to read.
Version 2.65 Modifications
- Updated graphics to work up to version 4.4.2 None of the new graphics since 4.0.2 have the increased contrast that was applied in ver 1.0 of this mod.
